Detoxification is a normal physiological process used to purify and cleans the body of wast, harmful toxins, and chemicals stuck your body. This process is essential to maintaining your health and vitality. The body is naturally detoxifying your body through the liver and kidneys, but when we get toxic overload,  the body is no longer able to respond to normal stressors, and pain, sickness, and disease  can ensue.

Why do I need to Detox?

The question is no longer “ARE you TOXIC,” it is “HOW toxic ARE you?” We live in a society full of toxins; from the air we breath to the food we eat.  In the U.S., there are approximately 40,000,000 chemicals registered for use, hundreds of which are present in our bodies according to The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Research shows many of these chemicals negatively affect our nervous, immune, endocrine, and reproductive systems.

Symptoms of Toxicity

Toxins can contribute to a wide spectrum of conditions including:

  • Fatigue or difficulty sleeping
  • Indigestion & other temporary gastrointestinal problems
  • Food cravings & weight gain
  • Stuffy head
  • Reduced mental clarity
  • Low libido
  • Joint discomfort
  • Skin that’s not looking its best

Exposure Toxin Examples: Air & water pollutants, Heavy metals, Cigarette smoke, Certain personal care products, Pesticides, Trans fats, Preservatives & Additives.

Internal Toxin Examples: Carbon dioxide, free radicals, ammonia.

Am I toxic?

Here are a few quick questions to ask yourself about your diet

  1. Do you or have you eaten processed foods?
  2. Do you eat meat that is not organic?
  3. Do you eat non organic fruits and vegetables?
  4. Do you or have you ever used artificial sweeteners?
  5. Do the foods you eat have preservatives, additives, dyes, or sweeteners added?
  6. Do you drink soda?
  7. Do you eat fast foods and/or eat out regularly?
  8. Do you drink coffee regularly?
  9. Do you drink alcohol?
  10. Do you drink tap water?

If you answered yes to a majority of these questions, your diet most likely contributes significantly to your toxic load.  Your toxic load is the amount of toxins your body has to process. In addition, your body has to process all the other chemicals and toxins in our environment.
